How To: Get the "MediaType" of a pin or a connection
"Media types" describe the type and format of media streams. The MontiVision Workbench distinguishes between five types of media streams.
1. Video: contains all video types
2. Audio: contains all audio types
3. I/O: contains all I/O streams. I/O streams are an extension of MontiVision Imaging Technologies® to Direct Show®
4. Stream: contains all stream types
5. General: contains all other types
Each media type is shown in a different colour. In the visual presentation of a filter graph, all pins and connections use these colours. This means you can see at a glance what kind of media type is used by the graph. The status bar of the application shows a key to the various colours and their corresponding media type.
