The application window
The main application window contains the following items:
| Menubar | The top of the window contains a menu which provides access to all available commands. |
| Toolbar | Under the menu is a toolbar with icons for direct access to the most used and important commands. |
| Filterbar | The filter bar on the left of the application window contains buttons for the five main filter categories into which all available filters are sorted according to their function. |
| Filter- and Historybar | The window on the right side contains some tabs with direct show filters and recently used project files. The filters are listed in an sorted list in a grouped tree and in an list with the recently used filters. |
| Statusbar | The status bar at the bottom of the application window contains some information about the application and the current filter graph. |
| Filter Graph | The main area of the application window shows the filter graph. The filter graph represents the imaging system. To create a filter graph select filters from the filter bar and connect theme together. The Start command launches the execution of the graph. |
| Filter Property Dialog | Some filters contain a property dialog allowing exposing the ability to change their behaviour. |
| Output Video Window | The video window shows the final output video stream of the filter graph. |
The easiest way to create a new filter graph is to use the filter graph wizard function from the workbench. With this wizard you could create a complete filter graph. Look at this page to learn more about this topic.
